I'm being offered a 200+ pound lot of world coins. They were picked thru for the silver but that's it. From 1800s to today. All types. What's a pound of this stuff going for?

    Thanks!!

200+ pounds. Lucky you. That would entertain me for years just going thru them.

It's a lot more than $4. At a coin shop probably around $8 and eBay $10 or more.

Be nice and give the seller ~$5 a pound.

I'll add if it really is unsearched like you say it could be a lot of fun. I don't know if the person offering it to you is a friend or something online. I've been looking to buy some decent bulk world coins lately but I feel like the prices have gotten out of hand and I don't trust the quality of lots on eBay. It also depends what you want to do with them. Depending on the price it could be a good thing. If it's more than 200 pounds and you can get it for less than $1,000 that would seem to be a great deal. It's also a lot to spend on what could be a lot of junk. Just thinking out loud here.

If you can, take a look before you buy to get an idea of what's there. Coins from the 1800s could mean common UK large cents or it could be rare low mintage coins. Are you buying from a dealer who doesn't like to deal with foreign or a collector? I agree though that around $5/lb seems like a good deal. Even if there isn't anything great you can always sell bulk at a profit on eBay for around $10/lb priority mail.

Done deal bought 233 pounds at $4 a pound. This guy is a good friend. He's moving cross country so it's a lot of weight. Yes, he just wanted the world silver so I've come across a few interesting coins. Consensus on ebay is like $10 a pound so I thought it was fair. I saw Littleton coin at like $29.99 a pound. They're nuts. Also bought his junk silver by weight. Just about 3.5 kilos. Fun stuff. Thanks for the replies.
