woot - 2 steel cents

i was talking to a co-worker and noticed she had a 1988 Canadian 1 cent piece on her desk. she then produced 2 1943 steel one cent pieces. the first coin is an F and the other is a very nice XF. offered her $0.50 for the pair and another co-worker popped up and said she was a fool to not take the fifty cents. i am now the proud owner of 2 more steelies...

pcgs overstates the XF at $4.00 - i think what i paid was fair.

i get those alot in the wheat cent rolls from my dealer. i get them for 4 cents each.

 

i paid 20 bucks for mine ecept it was an ms66 certified by NGC

 

sweeeeet, I'd like to get a couple certed ones because I keep coming across those retreads

 

I have seen a few in TPG holders turn badly and become very spotted.
