Why are there so many labels for 2013 silver eagles? Was looking at buying a MS 70 graded by NGC and saw several.

simple as that. they get to grade a lot more coins (fees) and the sellers try to make people think one is worth more than another. last year they had 13 different labels just for the basic ASE.

And that's why I don't buy slabbed coins.

I like your response of marketing gimmick, but think your reasoning for avoiding slabbed coins might leave quite a bit to be desired.

Well it's not my ONLY reason for avoiding them but it is a big factor. I don't need to pay extra for someone to tell me what a coin is graded. I understand it for rare coins -make sure it isn't a fake. But beyond that I don't really see the benefit of the extra cost beyond that. I think they have been hyped so much as the end-all-be-all as far as coin grades go. I yearn for the older days when people studied and graded their coins themselves...not that I was collecting back then...but you know what I mean.
Hope this rant made sense. :p

    And when it's time to sell? I know you say it's a 69, but I give it a 63.
