    Hello all,
I am more of a foreign coin collector, but occasionally buy peoples collections

I recently bought a small collection of 111, circa 1960-1964 US proof sets
and a lot of 1964-1966 canada proof sets

I came across a few older pieces, and this is the only thing I could not figure out what it was

I out a picture of the whole "collection" and then a few close ups of this little cardboard box and 2 little cellophane coin holders

I think the box is from 1951 or 1953, as those were the only two non flatpack proof sets this guy had that were in capitol plastic holders

Can anyone confirm that this box and cellophane is from 1951 or 1953 ?
If so what kind of value if the cellophane and cardboard box worth with no coins in it ?
The pictures in question are the 2nd and third ones not the pile of proof set

    thanks for any help
    sincerely

Well, I think he probably held onto the original packaging because the prices for proof sets, especially early ones are those that are original.

Yes that is the kind of box and cellophane that the sets originally came in. But the cellophane was also wrapped in tissue paper.

The original packaging has no value once the coins were taken out of it.

Yeah you could probably sell it to somebody on ebay, but the only buyers I can think of would be those who had an intention to defraud somebody else. And would you really want to help people like that ?
