:mouth: Couldn't resist bidding and getting this 1974 double headed Jefferson. I am going to give it to my son who likes magic tricks. I bought it as much for the envelope as for the coin. The right image shows the edge where the 2nd head was inserted into the cut away tail.

It is funny that Littleton would sell such a thing.

Wow! That envelope looks exactly like the ones I got coins in on approval from Littleton and yes, that would have been the early to late 70's!

As a kid I always wanted a 2 headed coin. As an adult, I don't know why I don't have one. They're still cool.

If you really want one of those let me know. There is a magic store near my house that has all sorts of magic coins. Almost any denomimation of 2 headed or two tailed. I used to have a bunch of them but gave most away. Still have the Ike dollar and a few smaller ones. I really like the hollowed out cent for the dime to be inserted. The Cent is magnetic so you can place it in someone's hand, use a magnet on a ring and pass it over thier hand. The cent vanishes leaving the dime. Drove kids nuts for while. Another is the hollowed out half dollar with a mexican coin fitting in the hole. Every time I go in there I want to buy everything with coins.
Possibly could find the same by going to Google and typing in magic stores.

So this is the 2 Headed Dollar. Note one side is a D and the other side is not. Edge shows no signs of how they did it.

The edge wouldn't. But the '78 side does, you can see where it was cut just inside the rim.

How about that. I was always looking at the edge thinking they simply split it in half. Now that you mention it there is a line there. Good catch GDJMSP.

Odd you should mention that. Where I used to work everyone flipped for coffee. I thought about using one of those and did for a while. Never got caught but after a few weeks I admitted to everyone what I did so had to buy coffee for a lot of people to make up for that.

Carl, that's how it is always done with these 2 headed, 2 tailed coins. Always has been.

Sorry Carl, I should have put an arrow pointing at the "inner" edge where the work was done in the photo on the right. Once you see it, it really stands out!
