How many of you are getting a Merry "Coin" Christmas? I will be getting one really nice one from my wife, and couple more lesser ones from other family members, also one really special one from me to myself. Sure beats getting clothes, my wife tries to dress me, since I usually walk around shirtless in camo pants aka "Duck Dynasty" cast members.
............................................................I may get something for myself, or something from a family member....
My Merry Christmas present from my wife is a trip to the NYINC in January. My present to her is a trip to Vogue Knitting Live the same weekend. I am hoping to find a Roman 2 VNCIA scale weight or an Aes Grave I do not have.
Me too! My AV Quarter Stater (unsold lot/ Hirschnachfolger Auction) arrived 5 minutes ago via FEDEX. I am glad I was home (rainout today) The guy left it sitting in front of door....3700 Euros coin! On the positive side, it looks way nicer then auction foto, definately MS. Also, it was not checked by customs
That depends on the coin....Switzerland is a very $$$$ Country to vacation. But, so are most Ancient coins
No Coin Christmas for me, I think. Will be in SW Germany next month (roughly where DE, CH and FR "meet" - no skiing) and in California in February. Pricy coins on top of that? I doubt it. Christian
I bought myself this million dollar bottle of Scotch Whiskey for Christmas ! Just kidding of course .
My CT SS better send me one....jump in, its not to late! https://www.cointalk.com/threads/2019-secret-santa-sign-up.350129/page-4#post-3901536
I usually try to find a coin or book that I can give to myself at Christmas. This is my Christmas gift for 2013 Trajan as Divus Ar Antoninianus 250-252 A.D. Rv Altar RIC 86a 4.30 grms 22 mm This year unless something shows up I will have to wait till the NYINC in January
I'm thinking of others, so I went shopping for my cointalk ancients Saturnalia giftee. I got them a cool Roman coin from the era of the Crisis of the 3rd Century. I hope they like it. It's definitely a coin I would have bought for myself, so hopefully they think I have a good eye picking them out.
Nothing picked yet, but I do have a coin coming as a birthday gift from the missus along with a new coin case with trays. I am hoping to purchase a specialist game controller as a Christmas gift for myself, but it may or may not actually get a second run after the first lot sold out so I'm playing the waiting game. I would definitely like to get a copy of Sear's Greek Imperials.
John, Your chances of getting that Allectus aureus are about as good as mine for getting that bottle of Scotch .
