Welcome Jeff35 to the forum. I don't know what the seller is looking at, but his pictures sure aren't going to sell his item.
Well the coin seems to be a new variety a 1956 PF cent reverse and obverse doubled die the reverse appears to be doubled too which he didn;t indicate ,but for that price it is a science fiction movie. I would say its a proof 63 not a 67. Well the seller must be dreaming this I would say the coin could be worth in the thousand range, but not that figue for sure I wonder why the seller didn't get a coin like that slabbed, and atributed makes you wonder doesn;t it ,a stay away purchase no matter what. Proof Doubling It look like flat doubling to me. it is caused by worn die as I recall right? plus the reveres look like it has been dipped but just maybe camera shot. Price $$$$ I will sell him mine for 1/2 lol
Angelo it;s called machine doubling that kind of doubling is caused by a loose die die deterioration doubling is a worn die and you won't ever see DD on a proof coin only MD and there's alot more pressure applied on the proof strikes Jazz
Joe there are several DD on proof Lincolns. The old CPG lists more than a dozen and at least 2 TDO. Not sure how many in new Vol. 1....Mine hasn't arrived yet. Jim
You would think some hint of a DDO would show in the eyelid? :rolling: These are always fun to read. :thumb:
Wow that's a pretty small percentage I never new that could happen on a proof coin since they take extra care about the dies.I would assume they are worth a nice premium since it's on a proof very unusual through to hear this infomation kind of shocking to me. I guess i never heard about it or read about this could you furnish me with the info on this Jim ,it would be very interesting to read about this. Thanks Jim I learned something today Jazzcoins Joe
