Dursin and Dready tied with 234.5% for all elements!! Tie Breaker was also tied... Hummm they are both in Sunshine State..did you guys copy each other??? LOL Additional palyoff question will come Saturday morning, time to be announced tonight!! Watch the thread closely, there will be a time stamp required for the winner to be determined!! Regards to you all... RickieB
Congrats everyone! I didnt get to participate, I have been so busy trying to finish up exams and move out of the dorm for the summer. I will have to go over the questions later on so I can learn some more stuff.
How the paper is graded.... I took the total questions each question worth 100 pts for all questions on the elements, and gave credit for each correct part of the question answered correctly!! Example Element #3 had 5 questions each worth 20 points each, depending on subquestion of the original question like #2 and then 2.1, well each of those would be worth 10 pts. I did this with all questions! Edited..was looking at the wromg paper sheet sorry!! It appears that we have a tie between Dready and Dursin!! Even the tie breaker question was a tie. I will devise an additional tie breaker question for the two of you so please watch the thread closely! I will announce the time it will be posted and how much time you have to complete it. The winner will be the correct answer plus the fastest time stamp for the answer!! WOW... I told you it was close...:eat: :high5: RickieB
Wow...looks like it was close! Edit again: Never mind, I think I'm figuring it out. Been a long day at work and am a bit burnt out!
Ok, I sorta get it, but don't see where the 12.5 points for 2 and 2.1 would have come from? How does it work with the questions with sub-parts? For example, with Element 2 there were also 5 questions...is each of those worth 20 points and are those 20 then divided according to the number of sub-questions? I work with computers and sorta find stuff like this interesting... Thanks again (from the Sunshine State) for having the contest Rickie!
Congrats Dursin and Dready great job! Congrats to Daggarjon as well. A BIG THANK YOU to RickieB. Your contests are amazing.
Dursin... I used that as an example.... If you take Q#1 from Element #1 and make it worth 100 points then here is what you have....7 questions and sub questions. 7(14.291)=100.037 or 100 . So Question # 1 has a maximum point value of 14.291 points. Then simply deduct the ones you missed so say you missed 2 on question #1 so out of 14.291 points/3= 4.76 point if you only got 1 out of 3 right, 9.527 if you got 2 right and 14.291 if you got all of it right. I did each question this way based on the number of questions asked on the element! It is a simple way of braeking down each individual answer in to parts of a point total. Pretty cool huh?? RickieB
My apoligies dursin.. I was looking at a tally sheet and not the example I should have posted. I have corrected this in the Thread!! Regards, RickieB
Yes, that is a cool way to score it! I'm going to try to do a spreadsheet to check my score...just for fun! Back in the late 80's I actually worked with a company to help test a new spreadsheet program they were developing...was really cool, but also a big flop! Don't know why because it was pretty darn good...was called WingZ.
congrats dready and dursin you too Noost me tinks skipping all them engraving questions must have hurt my chances lol
