Hello out there folks. I just wanted to post this as a general statement.

The "Winners" that I have supported in the "Golden Coin Hunt" were the people listed as the winners and those that helped organize the contest for DAK.

I have received some request for coins from other participants of the contest claiming they had won as well.
In light of this, I have decided to honor those listed by DAK himself. I did not follow this contest and only after I read it, did I feel let down as well.

    As it stands, I have sent coins to;
Twiggs, NSandler, USS656 and Tropher. Others have declined the $1 Sackie as reward for helping DAK organize and generate ideas for this contest.
I am sorry to say that in my book, I honored the winners with their alternate prizes and therefore consider this contest closed. I am sorry if I disappointed anyone else who emailed me. I was just trying to make it right.

    Regards to all...:)

    RickieB,

You did way more than anyone else was willing to do for a contest that wasn't even yours. I know I am very grateful for the wonderful gesture you made. Just the main prize to Twiggs was more than anyone could have hoped for. I sincerely hope that anyone that participated realizes how generous you were to do what you did. If anyone wants to complain, they should examine how much they were willing to give for a contest that someone else did/could not honor. With the reward of Twigg's prize I considered the contest ended - and on a very positive note. I cannot speak for NSandler, but I would have gladly given up my prize just to see Twigg's get hers.

Thanks again for bringing to an end a contest that just would not be forgotten without closure. It was an extremely generous gesture!

    Darryl

You have gone way beyond the call for this one. How anyone has the moxie to even ask (beg?) for more is beyond me. You have demonstrated you make-up, I guess they are demonstrating their's. You have been the absolute model for what you have done so far. I will let the readers fill in their word for the beggars.

Its a shame the way the world is getting anymore. Some people do nothing but want. What you've done is extremely commendable, this hobby could use alot more people like you Rickie.

Even though he would never admit it.
That in itself makes him even more admirable.

    Rickie B is not Dak.

He did not start this but, in essence, he MORE THAN FINISHED IT. Ummm... little side note - HE DID NOT have to. It was a noble and generous gesture and I sincerely commend him for it.

As for those that would not take his offerings. SHAME ON YOU. It was better than what you originally got now wasn't it?

I thanked him kindly for his most generous offer but passed. I don't understand why it's shame on me?

    Hello Everyone,

Please do not take my post the wrong way.
I simply posted this to say the Contest was over and that all the prizes were awarded or the recipients declined the offer. There have been a few claims that were not legit, according to the winning post DAK made.

If you were one of the folks who declined the offer, it is no problem as it was your choice and it actually saved me $$$ in postage..thanks!! :)
I would like to state that indeed I am not DAK! LOL.....where did that come from??? :goofer:

I am just a guy, who like you, enjoy the hobby and the fourm. When that amount of work went into a "Contest" well, I just felt like awarding the prizes...thats it, no strings, no questions, no gimmicks.

I wish all of you to be well and enjoy everyday of your passion! I now just want this to be over so everything can go back to normal..... Is there such a thing as normal?

I am considering looking for a BIG HAT and Dark Glasses so I can post my pic for you all to see that DAK, I am not! ( no pun intended Doug....lol)

I would like to personally thank all of you for your kind remarks, I truly appreciate it very much. But I think it is time to move on past the Golden Coin Hunt because it is over. :thumb:

    Regards to all,

    RickieB

Sorry Mike (and anyone else I may have offended).

It was the way I read it. If you thanked then declined you get a gold star and a happy face!

Got my prize on Monday, but I haven't been successful in taking a picture of it that didn't look like one of those blurry ebay pics. I'll try to get my wife (the photographer) to do it for me. It's my first Sackie, and it's a 2003.

Thanks to RickieB for going above and beyond the call for this one. I know I'm not alone when I say that.

    Thanks.
