Will this Walking Liberty make a 66?

This walker has some super nice details, with very minimal contact. The luster is blazing, and toned, but the scanner washed out the luster.

    Eh, I don't think it's going to go a 66 after looking at the details a little more. Maybe a 65, definitely a 64 I believe.

It doesn't look fully struck. If that is the case, it can only grade MS64 max.

As a Morgan, I doubt it'd make 66. As a Walker, it might.

Lol, I just noticed that. I guess it's too late to change the title.

THIS IS AMAZING MORGAN! It is a huge error putting a Walking Liberty obverse and reverse on a MORGAN thread!

I bet it will fetch millions! :) :)

With all due respect, man, you're dogging my 5Mbps cable to download those images. I can just imagine what a dialup use must be thinking. Think you could resize a little bit?

I don't know....looks weekly struck on the leg and hand....MS64 at tops...I would say MS63....maybe its because of the scan...
    I'll change it for you....

I would love too....but the photos are HUGH....my screen is too small and I have to go over and over....pleace...if you want some ideas on grades...make yours photos about the size of zaneman's above...about 100Kb....

You need to alert us poor dialuppers when you do something like that. I've got a bit more than 2/3 of the pictures after almost 10 minutes.

One way to very significantly reduce the picture size would be to crop it down close to the actual coin. I really, really, really, don't need to spend 10 minutes-plus waiting to see staples, 2x2 margins, and stuff like that.

The area of a square including the complete coin equals about 17% of the total picture area, and it even requires scrolling to see the whole coin. Every photo manipulation software allows at least cropping and size adjustment, no matter what other features it may lack.

I've had morgans on the brain, so I just put morgan. I'm also exhausted, and am going to bed now, at 8:18 PM. Reuben, those are some nice coins you have there: )

    zane -

Get your loupe and take a close look on the obv at the area just inside the rim between the B & R in LIBERTY. Then on the reverse look at area just inside the rim by the motto and between UNITED and the rim.

    Tell me what you see.

Very tough to tell through this scan. Luster and strike (to a lesser extent) are what this coin seems to be lacking...Mike

It just looks like some ugly toning to me, red and grey. I'm fairly sure it's not PVC residue, but I've been wrong about many things in the past. Hopefully I you are asking me to look for something else, that my eyes are not seeing.

This coin has great luster, but my scanner never, ever seems to show the luster of coins.

Yes, these areas look to be very rough to me in the pics. Does it appear to be bumps on the surface or is it smooth ? For a comparison on the same coin, examine the areas next to the rim opposite those I mentioned. I think you'll see what I mean.

It looks smooth, as opposed to pitted or rough, so I'm hoping that it is not PVC. Unfortunately, I am colorblind, so I may see something as colors they actually aren't.

    Ah

Sorry, I won't do that again. I forgot about dial ups, or that they even sold it any more.
