Will the Baseball Hall of Fame Gold coins sell out first day?

What are your thoughts the Gold Coins sell out quick?

Coinweek thinks this is possible. I wanted to wait a month or two but I am worried.

If they sell out this quick what type of premium do you think they will be going for on Ebay based on previous experience with popular issues that sell out?

I don't think it will sell out in a day. A few weeks, maybe, but not in a day.

 

Still if it sells out in a few weeks what type of premium might I expect t pay if I can't get one now? Obviously educated guess based on past sell outs.

 

It would be more likely for the silver and clad coins to sell out first, not the gold. The gold commems always seem to go begging. And they are expensive. It's a real crap shoot for someone to load up on the gold and hope to profit from it in the aftermarket. The unique design alone is not gonna fuel demand for these pieces IMHO........

A sellout would most likely surprise many collectors, myself included. It would be nice if that happened, but modern commemoratives do not have the following of proof sets, uncirculated sets or ASEs. Please remember that even S-mintmarked rolled ATB quarters sell in far greater numbers than commemoratives

 

And I can't wait.

I think I may have to change my opinion. These might indeed sell out the first day......

 

I think they have a good chance. IMO I think the gold will be gone first.

 

I was going to put off buying one till later this year but I think I'm gonna pull the trigger today.

Got mine ordered, just went the silver route. Got in the waiting room about 11:49 and only had to wait 3 minutes in waiting room before purchasing at noon.
Signed onto my iPad at precisely noon, was put in the waiting room and told to stand quietly in the corner for... 2hrs22min!!! I think they are going to sell out today.

 

I didn't buy any gold ones - Wait said intially 22 min, but ended up at 39 min before I was "let in". Once I got in, the site was very slow and buggy. Checkout / trying to put stuff in my cart took almost 20 min. Finally got my items ordered.

 

Wow, I just went there and got into the waiting room...

Good thing I'm at work until 5-ish...

 

Lets see, the 2012 Anniversary SAE Sets sold 100,000 sets in about 4 hours.
I somehow do not believe that an offering which has a 400,000 mintage limit is going to sell out in a day.

Limits:
Gold coin - 50,000
Silver Coin - 400,000
Clad Half - 750,000

Household ordering limits"
Gold - 50
Silver - 100
Clad - 100

It's possible the gold could sell out but not possible for the others.
