Will EBay act when the seller confesses?

I reported a phony Japanese coin to the EBay/ANA fraud folks, and also sent the seller an inquiry about his piece. The seller responded:
However, the listing is unchanged and touts the piece as a genuine coin.

I have sent EBay a copy of his response, and if they don't do anything about this auction, it will be very tough to convince me that the Community Coin Watch is for real.

Any chance of an ebay # so we can look/ see for ourselves?

From what I understand about the process that is taken by the Coin Watch is that it takes too much time to eliminate the auctions even after reporting. Seems that the process is going to have to be worked through so that immediate action can be taken if needed.
I like the idea of what they are attempting to do, I just don't see them using a system that has a real chance of working in its present form.

    A very pleasant surprise:
That means that EBay pulled it, because if he had cancelled it would still show up as a concluded auction.

However, Item #3936889361 is still listed by the same seller as an ordinary Trade Dollar weighing 20g, even though the picture is similar to a super-rare pattern coin weighing 27.22g!

I like the tongs used in the pics. Anyone that uses quality tools to scratch, oops I mean, display there coins has to be a quality seller.

    Satootoko,
I'm so glad that you got a definitive response from eBay. I have had communication from Drew Marich and Susan Procell and the CCW is a true entity, but we need to keep in mind that it is relatively new and still has bugs to be worked out. Unfortunately, it does take quite a while for appropriate action to be taken. At this point, there is too much time taken up in transferring the info between eBay and the ANA and back again. Without the ANA's sanction, eBay will not pull an auction for fraud. Hopefully, as time goes on, more faith will be put in the CCW members and action will be able to be taken quicker.

Please don't give up and keep reporting these auctions. Ebay is taking action against sellers even when the individual auctions that are reported end. I know that it can feel like a waste of time constantly reporting these auctions, but it is worth it :)

Great to see that people care about getting fakes pulled from ebay!
