will they? and will they crack the proof set open, or do i have to do it? and i mean in one slab. not six separate slabs.
I know NGC has multi-coin slabs...but I think it costs extra. I think what a lot of people do is purchase individually slabbed proof coins to make a "70" set and then send them in to be holdered in one group. This way they know the grades going in and the goal is to have a single slabbed set of high grade.
In January 2012 I asked NGC at the FUN show to put my five NGC slabbed coins into one of their 5-coin holders & they informed me that they were no longer offering the multi-coin holder.
I think the NGC Multi-coin holder, now, is only offered to authorized dealers, but I believe there is a minimum order requirement. Chris
Missing the 1958 colorful set & ultra cameo set I am only an associate with NGC grading privileges due to my ANA membership. In Jan 2012 NGC informed me that I could no longer request multi coin holders. To be honest it really bothered me because I have a bunch of toned & cameo proof sets and was assembling the 1958 sets when they stopped accepting 5-coin submissions. Now I have all the dates in 5-coin holders except the Pièce de résistance 1958 dated sets. I’ve also got several NGC 5-coin holder boxes but there is a big fat space where the 1958 sets should be located. Yep, it bothered me. BTW, NGC claimed that they had to discontinue the 5-coin holders because of all the unusual 2, 3, 4, 5, & 6-coin sets that folks were sending to them. It would be very nice to learn if I could submit my last couple multi-coin holder requests through a dealer.
The multi-coin holders became available only for bulk submissions with the 2011 service and fee announcements and then disappeared completely. There is no further mention of the multi-coin holders in the NGC article or news archives. Searched the NGC forum archives and the last thing I can find is from NGC in December of 2011 were they answered a uestion and stated they no longer offered multi-coin holders.
