Depends on what you are defining "better" as. I personally prefer to collect coins. No real reason other than I find their designs more attractive and they are easier to obtain. Medals have some of the best designs I've seen but can be hard to find and often out of my price range.

On a serious note think of it as if you needed the money and had both, coins and tokens, which do you think you could liquidate the easiest. Remember there are numerous coin shows, coin dealers, coin stores and coin counters at stores and flea markets. Where have you seen token dealers or token shows?
