i am thinking to stop, with this forum Augustus is more older and restitution is more rare, only is not silver my fun is gone
Dude just relax and enjoy the fact that you have other people to share ancient coins with. I doubt there is anyone else in the city where I live who knows or cares anything about them. This is the best Internet site I know for this kind of fun.
I wouldn't care so much about it since you have a terrific coin that most of us would love to have and what only really matters is that YOU are happy with it. I doubt even a few of us have that type. Not to mention there are so many threads running at the same time---some I miss for weeks on end....
Three things: Don't be so concerned over the number of likes a post gets; it's not a contest. The post with Sabina was not about the coin, but about what a professional and honest coin dealer Ken Dorney is. Ken is a member of the forum and people were liking the fact that he provided such good service. People can like a post for a variety of reasons; it doesn't correlate with the rarity of the coin in question.
We ancient coin collectors are a small club. We all love the coins and history an enjoy sharing our coins and seeing others coins. We all learn from the pictures, descriptions and stories. Please continue to post your coins for us to enjoy.
ro => you rock!! I always notice your cool coins (oh, and if I happen to miss one of your coins, feel free to PM and notify me that you have a cool thread going) ... a few of us still actually work, so occasionally there are soooooo many new threads and/or chit-chat that unfortunately some threads fall between the cracks => again, I always cheer and try to toss a "like" your way when I see your coins (you always post cool stuff)
@ro1974 Please don't give up the forum just because of the "likes" one of your posts does or doesn't get. You have a pretty sweet collection and I have liked both literally and figuratively every coin of yours I've seen Out of curiosity what country are you from and how long have you been collecting? I'm from the US and I've been collecting since I was around 7.
Likes aren't really that important. I actually feel that replies are better as you may learn more about your coin or another one related to you interests. Keep posting and browsing the forum, its always fun just to look at coins.
Ro, the like system here really means very little and you should not base how you view your coins in light of it. I have looked at your Augustus and it is a delightful coin that I certainly envy. As soon as I am finished typing this I will make sure I "Like" yours. I also think that my post about the Sabina had (yours has now passed it and I hope you will take some solace in that) more likes NOT because people liked the coin better, but that it was purchased from a popular dealer who is also a member here. He did a great job of selling the coin and shipping it to me quickly and many of those likes were directed at him rather than the coin.
I echo everyone else. Remember we are all time zones away and I'm sure some cross the international date line somewhere. I and am sure many others work 50 to 70 hours a week sometimes for 2 or 3 weeks straight. I' m not old but I sure feel way past my years sometimes and for good reason. Most of us have families to care for. This is a great forum, it takes all of us to keep it that way. Seems like everytime I look here I learn something new even in your posts ro. I'm envious of many of your collections but welcome posts from everyone. I have absolutely no one to share my coins with no one could give a rats butt around here. I enjoy this place because of all the sharing and informative posts.
