Just talk regularly if you have a lot to talk about.

You might want to also take the time to post and talk about other things in threads already started.....many people start threads everyday....sometimes no one post and sometimes many people post....that is just how it goes on a Forum.

I think that you'd get more attention if your posts weren't so vague. I don't think people intend to offend you, but they're probably not sure how to respond. As Speedy says, so many people are starting new threads every day, that if your post doesn't catch someone's interest right away it will slip by without getting responses.

speaking of no talking it has been hard for me to find where someone is talking right then. it shows people view ing but no talking. besides i don't know anything about coins, it is just interesting learning about them. i have been looking for someone who will tell me some pointers on how to research a coin if you don't know any of the normal things like the language it is in or country it's from? beside going through several sites and just aimless looking for something similar. That seems like a needle and a haystack kind of thing to me.

I just started and don't know much. my curosity got to me on the two coins i have and i would llike to try to look for more. it was so rewarding finding out what the coin was and it's history . but i have one coin that i've been looking up for the last several weeks with no luck. i just thought someone with more experience might know a better way of going about things because i would really like to do this as a hobby but would just like to know more about it.

    Ozzie,
    I hear ya buddy.
Sometimes I post what I think are interesting threads and get almost no responses. That's why I discontinued my
Ancient Kook of the Week posts.Other times,I'll post one that I think is boring and it becomes a hot thread.I don't let it discourage me,I just keep on plugging. One man's fascinating subject is another man's boring yawnfest. Now,since the numbers showing how many people have viewed a topic was fixed,I get more satisfaction out of seeing this than actual responses.I've had ones with over 200 views and one response. In fact,as of this post,162 people had read YOUR thread, that's HUGE!.:smile

In addition to the already noted items, try and remember that at different days or times of days some or many people have other things to do. For instance if you live in the Northern regions of this country, Spring is just getting on the move and then there are so many things to do besides sitting in front of a computer. During the winter here it is sometimes difficult to even get to coin shows. We have at least 2 each Month around here. This Sunday is a more typical busy time since we have a large coin show, gun show, opening of two large outdoor flea markets and so many other things. I've got to start my garden tomorrow but the coin show is first. As I said to many things to do rather than sit in front of a computer.
However, if you ask a question on coins that must be answered, eventually someone will help out. Patience.
