I like error Morgan Dollars. The years and mint don't really matter but I prefer planchet cracks and other unique errors. This is an 1891 CC with a small crack on it. The coin looks details to me, possibly cleaned, but its still a CC with a crack. Thoughts? What do you think its "worth"? Buy or pass? Sent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk
That's the only possible answer. I wouldn't pay a premium for it, though. If we call it AU Details, I'd want it to be relatively unmarred (for a cleaned coin) to reach $150.
This. +2. However, I will add (perhaps unnecessarily) that for me personally, it does nothing at all in terms of interest, but if you like it, there ain't nothin' wrong with that.
Buy it if you like it. To me, it looks an AU 91-CC Morgan, and that's how I would buy it if I were in the market for an AU 91-CC. The small planchet crack doesn't do anything for me, but I'm not you.
I'll buy anything I find interesting if the price is right. My first CWT I bought for $60 at a show with zero knowledge of CWTs (though I did know the dealer well), simply because it had a cool shattered die error. I have gotten my $60 and then some worth of enjoyment out of it since, and have learned a bit more about CWTs since then.
Just great. I looked up CWT and if it's what I think it is, damn acronyms, I like what I see. Civil War Tokens?? How are they able to be graded and hobo nickels arent? Sent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk
Yep, Civil War Tokens. They are pretty cool. There is actually a grading system for hobo nickels, but no grading service uses it. You'd have to check out the Original Hobo Nickel Society if you want to find out more. I only have 1 hobo nickel, so I'm no expert.
