It would sure be nice to get a package within a couple days of shipment. This FedEx Smartpost is for the birds!!! My delivery day is Tuesday, changed from Monday. It's got to go all over the state before it reaches my PO?? I bet it's sitting in the back of my PO sorting room right now but it won't make it up to my PO Box until Tuesday. Aggravating!!!

That's not unusual for FedEx Smart?Post. I usually figure 10 days when I get something shipped by that method.

Amazon and Wal-Mart have both begun using it a lot and so I have cut way back on ordering from either of them.

It is anything but "smart", that is for sure. I agree with you and find it very irritating also.

It just amazes me how technology can increase by leaps and bounds, but customer service continues to decline.

Yes, frustrating to the max!! Maybe if everyone who ordered from the mint complained about the Smartpost taking so long they would change it. I just don't get why some things ship priority mail and others get the slower than snail mail.

My last order from Amazon took two weeks after a guaranteed 5 days from them and another order of coins from Maryland to Ma. is still on the Ma. coast after two weeks.

I got you beat by a state.
Mine go from Mississippi to Indiana. Then through Ohio to western Pennsylvania, where it gets turned over to USPS to go back to Ohio.

UPS is No better if not worse ...... I won't buy anything if it has to come by UPS! I have canceled orders ,refuse to order, and even paid more elsewhere to avoid Anything to do with UPS!

I hate waiting for a coin. It seems like the most important ones are always late to arrive.

Then, of course, we have FedEx subcontracted by USPS so everything small changes hands one more time, sheeesh.

I think generally you can pay more for shipping to get things delivered "normally". The UPS to USPS and FedEx to USPS deals are for CHEAP shipping, not FAST shipping. If someone charges you normal FedEx rates and slips you SmartPost, then you have a call to complain as it is MUCH cheaper for them. UPS's plan (Postal Innovations?) is very similar.

When ANACS sent my graded coins back to me, they left their shop on Friday (maybe Thursday night) and got to my depot on Saturday. Did they deliver it Monday? Nope. Said "not due for delivery". So they sat on it for another day. Wouldn't be seemly to deliver it AHEAD OF SCHEDULE, would it? Then they wanted to charge me $5 for me to tell them what day and time would be best to deliver, since no one is home when they come by and they needed a direct signature. Anyway..........

I ordered the U.S. Marshal commem the day it came out. So far--mint to MS, KS, CO and it is now in Utah. Not expected to get it for another 5 days.

The last time I ordered something from the Mint when I got home from work the box was laying in the gutter in front of my house. At least the Post Office puts boxes on my porch behind the porch railing where no one can see them.

The mint could send a box like the ones the Marshal coins came in 2 day priority for about 20 cents more than you pay for shipping. I ordered a bunch of Marshal coins and they spilt it all up into 5 boxes (don't have a clue why they couldn't ship it all together) and they all came 2 day priority for the 4.95 for the whole order.
