Why have my ASE doubled in value?????

I bought my ASE proofs for $45 a piece on the secondary market less than 6 months ago, and now I see places like Apmex selling them for $90+shipping. But I keep hearing about that pesky U.S. mint stamped off like over 700,000 of the suckers. Is it just hype and the craziness of the mint who temporarily stopped making the 09's?

Would I be better off selling my ASE's and buying more Lincolns, because if my hype theory is correct, then my ASE's will plummet in value here soon?

Would anyone please shed some light on this issue.........

They haven't doubled in value, APMEX is simply doing a promotion and looking for suckers.

Well if you bought for investment and return, then sell, if not enjoy the ASE's for what they are and see if you still don't get your money's worth of pleasure in collecting the series.

I agree. They are looking for people who think the US MINTS stoppage of production of ASE because of lack of planchets will excalate the price of these and regular business strikes.

IF they can move enough of them at the price, which is a possibilty they move the market price on these - It will be interesting to watch.

As far as I know the Proof 09 is on long hold ... anyone heard different ??

I agree with just a bunch of hype. The Mint will be producing this year it will just be later in the year.

Try and sell the ASE Proofs. Try and get $45 let alone 95$. For a Proof $45.00 is usually the upper limit on e-bay and a dealer will give you much less.(unless you have a 95 W ASE Proof)

2008 is not really a key proof ASE year. Prices may drop after a while.
