Why are so many people interested in this French bill?

Curious why so many people are following my ebay auction for this bill? Can someone explain its popularity?

It is a scarcer date for this type note.

No, because of post-World War II inflation, this bill was worth about $1 US by the end of the 1950's. In January of 1960 they revalued 100 old Francs into 1 New Franc, worth about 20 cents. See this:
