Why are commemoratives so under-appreciated?

Seems like it's been this way for 30 years. Some of these coins are beauties. I love the designs, so much more handsome than most of what the Mint releases today.

One of my favorites is the Connecticut. I still haven't committed to one. Please show us yours and if it's for sale, PM me! :D

Shoot, show us any of your pretty commemoratives!
    Lance.

Modern ones are weakly struck but good designs.

I do like many of the commemoratives, they look really nice and the design is not something you see everyday. I'm guessing collectors prefer the coins made for circulating rather than the commems. because they think commemoratives are more of a novelty item?

What photo program is everyone using for these reflection pics? It is pretty neat. There are three different posters on this thread alone that have these pics.

Photoscape of course. It's a free download, just type in the name of the program in your search engine and it will come up. If I wasn't mistaken, green18 got me hooked up with that through one of his old "how to" thread about the program.
