    It's a zinc planchet with a very thin copper coating. The copper blisters and in this case it caused linear plating blisters as stated. It's not PMD, just a poor product from the mint that's made to cut costs.

    Doing a bit of research will give you a more detailed explanation and that will help you in learning. Plating blisters are very common on Zinc Cents but sometimes they occur length wise. You may consider keeping this one to use as an example. A cardboard 2 x 2 flip will work just find. :)

    Thank you. I'm going to do that. Between my health and my mom's dementia I still haven't been able to get my hands on any books. I might try to buy one online today. As always, I appreciate the help

    I don't have any books either. All I've learned, I've learned from online resources, including the people here on CT. Plenty to read and learn :)
    Also, like Collecting Nut said, moms come first.
