Just wondering if anyone has expirence dealing with this seller. Randall P Holder Rare Coins Here is a link to one of his auctions. http://cgi.ebay.com/1847-Seated-Lib...11970QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262
These 4,890 people did and they were all happy ;-) http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISA...iid=400009857327&sspagename=VIP:feedback:2:us
Also of note, They have sold coins worth far more and been given very descriptive feed back of how happy the customer was.
On the CFE Group, we see similar feedback given sellers of counterfeit coins, being sold as authentic, so feedback isn't all it's made out to be. It's only as good as the person giving it. Ribbit
I guess you are referring to not reading the feedback, but rather, look at who is leaving the feedback? Ribbit
He has a 4.9 star on his "Item as described". That is the highest I have seen at least amongst regular sellers. He has 100% rating. Here are a couple feedbacks; All left by veteran buyers and they do not just say "it was nice". And they were not left for $5 coins. Then there is also the fact that I see no negative hints.
thing that gets me is that he has a lot of toned coins. Many look NT, but can one dealer have that many NT coins? Not suggesting that he is moving AT stuff, I'm just a bit cautious.
I have purchased Capped Bust Halves from him. I did not have any complaints . The shipping was fair & fast & the grading was basically right on IMO. He always has a nice selection. My last purchase was about 2 years ago though.
Well - I would question several of his descriptions based off the pictures. A few look cleaned and polished. Then again I would treat him like most sellers. I do my best to grade the coin in the picture, then determine what I would pay - then see how close he is with his prices. Personally a few of them look over priced to me - but that is just my opinion and does not reflect against the seller.
Tater, From what I've seen on the auction, and read in the other responses it seems (IMO) that this guy is on the level. He offers a 2 week return policy and if you know your Seated Liberty's (and his is a beaut) then maybe you should go for it. You know how to cover yourself. USE a Credit Card and if you go through PayPal you have some? recourse if things aren't how you want them to be. I've spent hundreds for a coin, just on the photos of the coin and had to send the coin back. It eventually worked out that I was out only $10-15 bucks for my return S&H. Think it over and do what YOU want. Bruce
This guy looks awesome. I love some of his Busts. Thanks for pointing him out, he should write you a check for the free advertising ..unless ofcourse he is related.
I'll go along with that. My son sells a lot of STUFF on ebay and has friends and others send in those great feedbacks. I never believe anything that can be faked like a feedback.
I have bought several coins from him! I had one coin that I returned back to him and receive a refund for the coin! I have found the coins for the most part to be as he described and as always he takes great pictures for you to view, but pictures are not always enough!
Just bought a artificial coin that lost its toning several days! I just bought a coin from Randall and it lost its toning several days after I took it out of its holder! I contacted Randall several times by email with no response so I opened a case at ebay! I told ebay that Randall should take the coin back because he stated it was all original and naturally toned! He states that he will take the coin back if it was not removed from its original holder it was sent in! Her says he would take it back and try to sale it for me but it is not worth half what I paid for it! I had bought several coins from him in the past but this deal here will end my dealing with him!
I think I'm with the seller on this one! If you removed the coin from its holder, there's no way for him to know what else you did to it! He can't even be sure you're returning the same coin! And best of all, he states his policy clearly (number 6) in every auction! I'd say that, if he's offering to take it back and try to resell it for you, he's going far above and beyond the call of duty! Anyway, that's enough shouting -- I don't know about you, but my exclamation-point finger is tired.
You are partially right Yes I agree with you to certain point! When he stated natural toning and send me an artificial toned coin this was fraud and I never would have know this if I had never taken it out of the original holder! The coin had several carbon spots on the coin that were still there after the toning and you could tell this was the same coin from the photos he posted and the ones I took after the toning was gone! Offering to sale the coin on consignment for me when the value is not worth half what I originally paid for it would not be no resolution! I am no expert on artificial toned coins and this is why I try to buy coins from a dealer that has a good reputation! I wish this not to happen to anyone in the future for any reason!
When you removed it from the holder, you exposed the coin to an environment it hadn't been in before... sometimes, things can change. Don't jump to conclusions and call the coin AT. I don't ever recall seeing toning just disappear anyway, unless the coin has been dipped. Let's see the pictures.
Here is the link to posting of the coin Here is the actual link to the auction of coin! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...TSn4OLg%3D&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK:MEWNX:IT I several coins that I that have natural toning and I have never had a coin lose it toning after taking it out of any kind of holder! Have you ever had a toned coin lose its toning? I did nothing to the coin but take it out of original holder and put in safety flap! All of this toning was gone in a week to 10 days!
