I bought part of an old collection from a member on here. Many of the old plastic roll has shrunk to the point where the only way to remove them was to slowly tear the plasic away with pliers (dipping the rolls in boiling water also worked ). Anyways, I was pretty happy to get a whole roll of original rainbow toners. They actually look so good they look artificial. Is there any premium for these on ebay? Do you think they have a chance of a star from NGC?
The ones I can see all look like small dates to boot. Very good find. ps These weren't from the boiled wrappers by chance?
wow those are nice! i was going crazy when i found one toned memorial cent! my toned lincoln has the "rainbow" colors, but not the same as yours.
Im gonna go boil some shrink wrap now... J/K. I have AT'ed lincolns hoping to get results this nice! LOL. Great find!
The 60d doesn't have a premium does it? I got most out without boiling. The boiling didn't do any harm, no water got in the tube.
I guess I have to be the party pooper. While some might like the look of those coins, IMO they all appear to be artificially toned. Even if the toning is the result of some horrifically improper storgage, you have very little chance of getting either PCGS or NGC to grade them and even less chance of getting someone to actually pay a premium for them. I own some rainbow toned Lincoln Memorial's. This one is an EOR toner graded by NGC. This is the type of toning that will generate a premium on a Lincoln Memorial. Or perhaps this but not the coins in the OP.
Your not being a party pooper, I didn't think they would grade. It depends on what you definition and NT and AT is, but all I can be fairly certain of is that they were not toned on purpose. BTW, the toning colors are the same of the toning on your first coin, but in a different pattern.
Party pooper! LOL It's a little hard to pass judgement based on those pictures. Lincolns can tone in very odd ways. I bet if you looked at them in hand, you may change your mind. I say CONGRATS! Who cares about slabs or being called AT. As long as you and others enjoy the coins, that's all that counts. Is that a solid date 1960-D SD roll?
It's solid, collected from circ think, some are worn. I have another original BU too, I've been splitting it up.
The one near the center in the first picture gets me! That is one pretty coin, AT'd or not. Very neat thread, wish my recent roll opening would've contained more toners!
There are a few that good, the reason it stands out is because only the coins in the center of the photo really showed up well. PM your address I'll send you one.
