Some days ago I obtained a book called " Counterfeit Gold Coins of the World " by Alfred Dieffenbacher. The book was published i 1963 at a Montreal/ Canada - based publishing - firm. Its purpose was to provide help to bank clerks indetecting false gold coins. As the introduction and all texts are in english and german , I believe ist could have been ment especially for the use at german banks. But, who was Alfred Dieffenbacher ? Is anything known about him and could he possibly be still at life ? I would be gratefull for any answer. Best regards, Mynter
Wasn't he Batman's butler? "yakpoo" is Urban dictionary for someone that jokes around a lot when he doesn't know the answer.
Here's an article I found in a Candian newspaper (1964)... http://news.google.com/newspapers?n...ZZ0tAAAAIBAJ&sjid=_54FAAAAIBAJ&pg=7052,434816
Glad to help! I was looking for bankers of Munich, GE in the 1950s and 1960s and got some possible hits...but I don't know German.
