A very similar coin is on vcoins identified as:

Silver drachm, BCD Korinth 156; BMC Corinth p. 18, 184; SNG Fitzwilliam 3455; SNG Cop 136, gF, chipped, scratches, 2.284g, 14.7mm, 180[SUP]o[/SUP], Corinth mint, Pegasos left, koppa below; reverse head of Aphrodite left, hair in a sakkos, wearing earring and necklace
Older references identify the head as Nymph Peirene.

Bedford ... that's a beautiful coin!! (very nice)

Ummm, but I'm always curious how one comes across such a beautiful coin without knowing what it is, or what it is worth?

Well , I bought a large collection of coins today. 99% were U.S. but there was a coffee can of mixed face value modern foreign change & other common foreign low value coins & some tokens. This coin along with some buttons ,keys, 3 paper clips & a tooth were mixed in as well.

It looks like I may owe the past owner a few more dollars .

You guys were pretty quick to call this coin real. Can you explain to me what screams "real" or are you just familiar with the particular piece?
