I have a bunch of 25 Ore coins that are demonetized. Do banks in Denmark still accept them for exchange? What I’ve read indicates no, but I wanted to check anyway.
Looks like you're about seven years too late: http://www.nationalbanken.dk/en/banknotes_and_coins/Pages/Default.aspx
The voice of authority speaks. Nah, not me, but the central bank: "All coins issued after 1875 with a value of 50 øre and upwards are still legal tender and can be exchanged for new coins. The 25-øre coin ceased to be legal tender on 1 October 2008. Encashment of the 25-øre coin was possible until 1 October 2011." (Edit - Ha, too late. Had not seen @QuintupleSovereign 's post ...) I had seen this and was hoping there was some special exception. I guess I'll have to figure out what to do with all these coins!
I heard there was an American buying up vast quantities of US pennies. Perhaps there is a Dane doing the same for his own countries coinage.
