I subscribed to the mint for only one set per year. Thats all I need. I also subscribed for the clad proof set, silver proof set and mint set.

I'm in for ten and feel like I should be in for many more. I am hoping that all of the roll out problems the mint experienced with these coins will translate into low production numbers for the proofs. Once they get the hang of punching these things out, there will be no stopping them.

I think the poll needs another option:

I will not be subscribing but will still purchase a presidential coin set when they are released.

That is what I will be doing!

Yea I'm in for 10 as well...

I'm hoping the 1st year set takes off like the State Quarterd did...

I figure if I get ten, they go for three times what I buy them for and sell 5...

That'll pay off those 5, my 5 and I'll make a few bucks to buy another coin or two... Not looking to make a fortune by any means... But it'd be nice to atleast get mine free...

I might not sell any of them though, I might just give a few as gifts to people I think it might jump start them into collecting...

I'd like to get a few people I know in person into coins... Really anyone... I only know like two people that are into coins... Both are just people I work with that I see every few weeks...

You know, I thought of that right after I made it and could not figure out how to modify it... I can edit the text on the post itself, but not the Poll options...

I'm in for ten as well. I agree that if there is a potential for shortage, it's most likely in a new technology like this. New in the sense that it's a new process of doing the side lettering. And it's obvious they haven't worked out the kinks yet.

If the clad proof sets include the preidential dollars, I already get a set once a year anyway, so don't really need a second set of presidential dollars. I will collect one each of the business strikes and that's enough for me. Not going to buy 10 sets lol, that's 9 sets too many, I can use that money to buy other coins instead.

Will get the presidential proof coins in either the silver or clad proof sets when they are released. Have not thought about getting additional presidential proof set, but that may be something worth looking into as some have stated on this thread

    Indianhead, you said,

"I also subscribed for the clad proof set, silver proof set and mint set."

I can only see the proof sets for sale on the mint webpage?

    US Proof Sets Clad x3

Every year I order 15 to 20 sets of each proof and uncirc coins as presents for Christmas presents. Also, a copy of the Red Book. Now that the Red Book is becoming a one year ahead of time joke I'll stop that. As to the new President coins, I will not order any, collect any and if given one will get rid of it. Wouldn't even give them as presents.

Thats cool that you give them out as presensets... Do you get much feed back from the folks you give them too???

That would be awsome if someone ever gave me Numismatic gifts... That or gift certs to the Mint or Paypal, so I can get my own off e-bay...

When the 2007 proof set comes out ("spring"), I will buy one from the mint. But no subscription for me please ...

Question: I hear rumors that this set is ONLY available by subscription(as the poll seems to imply), yet the Mint website seems to indicate that they can be ordered just as any other set, when the spring release date(?) happens. Can anyone confirm the real story ?
