I was just wondering if anyone could tell me if there is only one whitman folder to hold all the mercury dimes in that series?

I think there is, but I would suggest investing a little more and getting the Whitman or Dansco ALBUM to hold them in. Those I know for sure hold all the dates/mintmarks in the series, from 1916-D to 1945-Micro S. They also protect better, and allow you to see both sides of the coin, instead of only one side like the folders do. They usually run about $20 or so, but are a very good investment.

However, if you're set on the folders, I would suggest trying Barnes and Noble bookstores, local coin dealers, or searching for it on google.com. You should be able to find what you're looking for.

well thank you but I wasen't asking for myself When I was a kid I use to look thru my grandmothers coin collection I remember that see had a mercury dime collection that was in a folder and that every hole was filled So I am assuming that see has the 1916 d dime since you are saying that one folder holds them all

It depends on what the brand of folder was. Some of the folders are broken up into year groups - say 1916 through 1930 and then 1931 through 1947 - like that. Others may have different year groups.

But I do believe that there are folders which would hold all the dates and mint marks from start to finish.

There are indeed Whitman folders that contain slots for the entire series. I bought a full one just this week in the shop and have some new unused ones in the supply dept at the shop. Check your local coin shops and you'll find them :)

Unless the folder was a one-a-year folder, meaning that it held one of each year and not one of each mint mark and date. Hope this helps.
