Hello, all Im thinking of bidding on the WHITE STRUCK 1957 PROOF LINCOLN CENT. ERROR COIN. POSSIBLY THE ONLY ONE IN EXISTANCE. A WHITE PROOF PENNY Can someone tell me what error is this? and is it worth anything?
Just guessing. Is this the one you are talking about? http://cgi.ebay.com/WHITE-STRUCK-19...3911.c0.m14&_trkparms=66:4|65:1|39:1|240:1318 You will want to read this thread; http://www.cointalk.com/forum/t45169/
I agree, read that thread before you do anything. We had a long discussion about that coin and I would stay away from it.
I have seen this done with chrome plating before. I'v work at a plating company and few people there have plated coins and were very good at it. I would stay away from it.
Isn't this secret service level Fraud? I mean it's OK to damage the coin(souvenir smashers) as long as you don't misrepresent it or try to sell it for the metal content right (melting pennies for copper)? This guy is lying that the Mint did this to the coin and therefore he has altered the coin and is trying to sell it as something it isn't.
I guess your right, Looks like fraud :hatch:http://cgi.ebay.com/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110330277053 http://cgi.ebay.com/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110330278579 So Much for Rare, He has two more of them. Fraud
