In hand i would imagine its dark, the dirt or carbon spot on the obv is to distracting

I think 1 has more eye appeal. I do not care for the darkness of the toning on 2. The couple hits that are on #2 are distracting from the overall appeal.

 

Why do you have to get rid of one?

 

too many coins, too much money in coins.

 

Obverse is better on #1. Reverse is better for #2. If I had to decide, I'd keep #1.
