I received a strap of New five dollar bills, all serial numbered.
I want to keep only five, which five do I keep ?
the first five, middle five, or last five ?

    thanks

I would look for any star notes, also any unique serial numbers

It does not have any star any unique serial numbers, but I
almost like the design so I will keep some.

spread them out on a table in order and then pick up 5 with your eyes closed :) since there are no stars or fancy's It is really only personal taste of the numbers. good luck with your decision.

give us the serial number range of the strap .. it might be possible we might spot something in the serial range you might have missed. it might be slight, but its worth a shot ....

if it turns out there is nothing .. no radars, bookends, ladders, pokers ... or any of the other hundred or so varieties :D then i would keep the lowest 5 ...that is only IF the whole strap is the same gem unc condition.. otherwise pick the top 5 condition.

thanks, the serial numbers go from IB44160151A to IB44160200A
The first one has a partial Tellers stamp, otherwise all gem Uncirculated.

Where do I learn about bookends, ladders, pokers ... or any of the other hundred or so varieties?

I have been reading here on CT for awhile and learned about radars and 666,
    and 295's.

    thanks

radars are easy to spot, but not easy to find, the 295 variety will not be found very often in circulation now, as it is an old note, and most likely be destroyed by the feds if they are incountered due to their age - they can be easily found for sale at any number of venues. bookends are a novelty IMHO - and not worth paying a premium for. same with any type of 'poker' hand note. I only included thewm becuase they do have a collector base and therfore are collected by someone.

Most books on currency would have some info on radars as well as the 295 errors. I would start with rthe Linquist book. sorry, but i cannot for the life of me remember the name. It is RickeiB's favorite book :D maybe he will pop in with the name readily available.
