Aloha cointalkers, I recently stopped by my local coin shop and spotted a 1931-S Lincoln cent in G-4 for $100. I also saw a 1908-S Indian cent in VG-8 for $105, I'm considering buying one of them but I can't make up my mind. If it was your choice, which coin would you take?

    Mahalo in advance.

Well the price is a bit high on the 1908S but i think I would prefer it to the 31S. Although if you can hold out for a while and save a few more dollars up get one that is VF or better for $40-$50 more. I think you may be happier with a coin that shows more details although I don't know if you are trying to complete a collection etc. Good luck on your purchase!

I would prefer the 1908 S IHC since I am collecting that series at the moment but the asking price is way too high for that grade in my opinion. Somewhere between $50 to $70 would be the right price for that grade in my opinion.

the ihc is overpriced, so i would go with the lincoln.

You can get an AU 1931-S for about $130. Why would you buy one in VG for that price?

here (below link) is the one I purchased back in May..I would listen to RLM and wait a bit. You definitely get one for a better price then what you mentioned.

    What he said.
The price creeps up very slowly all the way through AU.
Look around and get a better coin.
