Whats better to buy a 1/4lb of u.s silver coins for $78

or

$6.20 face value of us silver coins for $90

Neither they both sound like terrible deals.

 

With silver at $19.40 per ounce, paying $19.50 per ounce is not too bad. Paying $14.50 per $ face for coins isn't horrible, but I will bet you could beat it. Current price is about $13.99 per dollar.

 

To me it depends upon the coins.

 

Get the cheapest deal you can! Like scrap or 10% more.

 

As the others have said neither deal is good but the $6.20 deal is much better $6.20 for $90 is 14.52 times face. a quarter pound of 90% silver coins is $4.50 face and for $78 you are paying 17.33 times face.
