I tried but I really don't care for either of them. It's a common date Philly. You could find a really nice certified MS63 for around 30 bucks. Sell this one on ebay for 20 and spend ten bucks and upgrade it to a nice PCGS/NGC MS63. There are many out there to chose from. Also look at ICG. They are strict these days and I like the holders.
I prefer the bottom one (not toned one). The upper one looks like it has slight wear on the high points and I don't get into the sneezing look. Something was spilled on the coin and it looks like silver dip spots. But I don't see anything seriously wrong with either other than the fact the upper one has that old cleaning look to it. :thumb: Ribbit
If forced, I'd choose #2, but quite candidly, I'd likely pass on both. This is a series that you can afford to be VERY selective....Mike
Personally, i would pass on both. Go onto teletrade monday, and bid in some of their morgan auctions, if you just want a nice looking morgan, pick up a 1921 Ms-64. Check this one out: http://www.teletrade.com/coins/lot.asp?auction=2547&lot=2021&imagetype=j2 Im sure you could win it for 45 dollars or so. If your stuck on a 1889: http://www.teletrade.com/coins/lot.asp?auction=2547&lot=1948 monkeyman
Viper.....I want you to know.....we're all thinking and praying for you folks in the great State of Iowa.
WOW! I am kinda surprised at the fact that more people are chosing 1 over 2. The first one I bought many, many years ago for a price that has longed slipped my memory. Probably, not much, less than 20, maybe even 15??? What the pics posted didn't show that the toning on the obverse has some beautiful blue, green and red colors. The reverse just has dark toning around the rim. I don't know what happened to the front, but I have always thought that it might be AT, but since it was only one one side and not the other, that theory was questionable. The second one I picked up in exchange for an Andrew Jackson on Tuesday. I thought it was much more eye appealing and for the price I couldn't go wrong. I just wanted to see what everyone's opinion was.... and I got them! Thanks.
greetings! i cannot answer your question due to not knowing the amt of money you are willing to trade for the given coin.. were i in your position, if you are getting it at a bargain price ...buy. if this is for long term for your collection, take your time and look around. compare coins and prices at a given level. this is a readily available coin so take your time and use your best judgement. you can always find another at a price you feel comfortable with, or perhaps you are buying these at $10 each. use your best judgement and always trade for what you feel is fair. never rush into a decision. only my humble opinion. best wishes....steve
We appreciate it. Luckily most of the flooding is moving down stream, and the thunderstorms have subsided, but there is a lot of cleanup ahead for the people left in the wake.
