Where's George is and always has been poison to old and historic notes.

Check out what the OP from the following thread wants to do: http://forums.wheresgeorge.com/showthread.php?p=5021680 1969-1969D series $1 notes are the rarest of the $1 FRN series and this "clown" (to put it politely) wants to stamp them like they are as common as any other dollar bill.

Here is another thread where someone brags about marking up and destroying a 1995 $20 note: http://forums.wheresgeorge.com/showthread.php?t=142053&page=4 1995 $20 notes are the rarest of any $20 bill series of the last two decades. This is just the tip of the iceberg of what users on WG do to old currency. I've seen them brag about 40+ year old stars getting stamped. One time someone found a strap of older Mint CU notes which included a lot of Webs in high-grade of condition and bragged about stamping them all. They know exactly what they're stamping, too. There may be a few decent WG users but overall, most are heartless. They just don't care about the historic notes that they destroy and often seem to get off on stamping them.

I voted I Don't Care. This subject always attracts haters, and I'm way over it. I don't flippin' care.

I agree. They ruin lots of great collectible notes and just laugh about it when you get mad at them for it. They thrive on your anger when you get mad at them. I've read threads on WG before to see stuff like that. It's purely mean, IMHO.

Lucky guess. From now on, your new nickname is Mr. Lucky. Sound good?
Honestly, I think it's a neat idea that started out with good intentions, but went bad when people got bored of stamping regular bills. Now they need to go out and ruin what they know many collect. I suppose they get a thrill out of it, or something. As NOS stated the obvious, there are some good Georgers and some bad. I used to love that site and be an active participant, until I was introduced to the bad, very ignorant side of the site where individuals get a kick out of making people like NOS and I very upset. I have a lot of respect for you, Steve. No need to roll your eyes for me expressing my opinion. I think you are correct in that this subject does draw a lot of haters. But, haters will always hate on other haters. That is very key. Luckily, we are on a nice friendly site where haters are controlled and metered as to how far we poke at one and another. I think in the past, arguments revolving around this subject have definitely got out of hand, no doubt. But I think we can all be grown up about this and express our opinions without having to lash out at each other.
