I don't think walmart will have have them, check the nearest coin shop, or look at ebay and search items with free shipping.

    Hello cvcman,

    Welcome to the forum.

If you really only need 10 flips, I could mail them to you on Monday at no charge. Just send me a PM. (Also be careful not to give your home address to strangers on the Internet).

When you buy flips, make sure that you get the hard & brittle feeling flips. Soft flips have a plasticizer in the formulation that makes them flexible. Over extended time, the soft flips will out-gas & coat your coins with PVC residue. PVC will damage the surface of coins. Hard & brittle flips are good for long term coin storage. Soft & flexible flips are bad for long term coin storage.

Seriously? I get many of my non-slab coins from coin dealers in the soft flaps. I also purchase them from coin shops, in person and by internet.

Am I cruisin for a brusin?

    Thanks.

Just so you know, the smallest package of SaFlips contains 50. There are several good supply stores online for your numismatic needs. JP's Corner is one of my favorites.

You can get 2x2s for really cheap. Usually a 100 pack runs a few dollars. I'd order some off ebay, or if you're doing a bigger order and getting other stuff, jpscorner or wizard coin supply are great.

Welcome cvcman! What type of coins do you now have in your collection? Do you have a special interest in any particular type? Best wishes on your growing collection.

The short answer is YES, you are going to have trouble if you leave your coins in soft plastic flips for long term storage.

I was going to refer you to a previous thread at CT but I found several threads by searching for "PVC residue" & "PVC damage" & "soft plastic". There is much good information in the archived threads at CT. You can also find threads that discuss using a couple Acetone dips to remove PVC residue on coins. Look for coin surfaces that appear oily or include a greenish slime. This appearance may be caused by PVC residue on the surface. All coins and PVC residue cleaning applications are different so don't hesitate to ask follow up questions as they arise.

I would recommend that you purchase quality flips & replace all of your soft plastic flips.

Yes, welcome to CT. Why Pandas, in particular? Why not Maples or ASEs?

    Hello cvcman,

I'll mail the dozen new (PVC free) flips to you on Monday.

There are some really neat World silver coins available for bulion enthusiasts. I was in Guadalajara Mexico a week ago & picked-up some of their 0.720 silver coins at a very small premium over melt. They are for my friend but I kept one of each coin for my collection.
