I was just looking at my main page on the registry and it says based on my points I am in 1,873rd place. Guess I need more coins.
Here is a link: http://www.ngccoin.com/registry/index.asp "The NGC Registry is a dynamic component of the Collectors Society that enables collectors to display their coins and compete for awards and recognition. The Structure of Competitive Sets encourages you to focus and organize your collecting goals, while Signature Sets allow you to share and showcase your unique collection." They take both PCGS and NGC serial numbers
When I was building my high grade type set I was in the top 500, but now that I've sold most of that off I'm now at 994th place. I have a bunch of coins unregistered over there that would probably bring me up to 750th or so I'd bet. I just pay attention to the ranking of my 1909 mint set pretty much.
I'm currently at position 2820. But I'm hoping to improve that over the next few months. Wow, just looked at illini's registry and I have to get some serious points to get into the top 1000! By the way Crusty, what's you registry name, if you don't mind me asking.
Let's see if this works: Have fun...Mike p.s. you can click the above graphic to see all my (registered) sets.
Thanks for the kind words about my coins, CC. Have a few (2) coins to add yet so the total will go up in a day or three, but I really could care less about my place, to be honest.
I wish. That one has been on my want list for some time now. The coins are a 1806 half cent and an 1842 large cent. Both will be posted here in guess the grade threads -- so don't cheat and look at my registry set first.
Mike, What I really like is the fact that you show the same pride as I do in the way that you photograph and present your coins including descriptions. There are so many stunning coins in the registry that we can't appreciate because either the photo is terrible or there is no photo. Hats off to Mike. Here is my NGC registry banner. I also don't care about my overall score, but I do care about the score of my Jefferson Nickels and War Nickels sets. Now if they would hurry up and re-evaluate the Jefferson Nickel series like they said they would, I might be able to move up a little.
Interesting. I didn't know you could get an overall rating. I've got my 1793-1964 type set in there (I'm #18) plus two others that I don't even remember. Maybe I'll have to get more stuff up. And see where I stand at the moment.
I just finally put my two sets on NGC (Walkers and Buffalos) and didn't realize until reading this thread that there is an overall rank there. I checked and was surprised to find I am 260th (RLevoi is my name on there). Unlike Lehigh and Leadfoot, i have not gotten around to photos (I have good intentions and would like to share with others but I still can't take photos).
My NGC rank is 2605. Not bad considering that I have very few coins and sets. I have Roosevelt dimes both proof and circulation strike sets, the same for Jeffersons, a US Type Set and a 21st Century Type Set. It's a lot of fun.
Hey Mike, if you don't want your "slightly used" IKEs any more, you can send them over my way! You have a very nice collection that I aspire to collect someday. My "slightly used" collection is ranked 24th over on the PCGS registry list and my "shinny new" set is 12th.
