I have looked at many other forums and this seems to be the only one with a semi active trading section. I know there's ebay and craigslist, but any others that you reccomend?
I only have 2 coin shops within 75 miles of me and no coin shows, so whenever I go on vacation I make sure to stop at a couple of local shops and see what is available. I would be cautious of ebay, craigslist, or anything else online for serious purchaces unless you know they are certified by the anacs or pcgs. Even then I perfer to see my coins in hand before I buy.
I normally do my coin business in person at local & national coin shows. If you can tell us what kind of coins you like to collect & trade then perhaps we can recommend some venues (both Internet & physical shows) that might work for you.
Selling: I ussually consign my hgh end duplicates or upgraded coins through a dealer that specializes in that series, to other collectors directly, or in Heritage auctions. The rest I put up on Ebay through a friend or myself. Buying: I buy anywhere I can find a coin I need. Specialized dealers, other collectors, shows, Heritage auctions, Teletrade, Great collections, and Ebay.
I will buy anywhere I can find what I am looking for at a price I am willing to pay. I usually either sell to dealers, on eBay or at one of the many forums. If you are looking for a very active Buy Sell Trade forum, Collector's Universe forum is always active. And a lot of different stuff. I have had many transactions there.
I buy, from sellers I know personally on eBay, now and then from craigslist, B&Ms, and local dealers. I don't sell, nor do I trade.
