where can I get state quarters uncirculated?

I decided today to go ahead and do a state quarters set but I'm wanting to do a complete uncirculated set. Today at the bank I got 6 of the states in new rolls and put them into my folder with a tissue careful not to touch any of them so I wouldn't get fingerprints on it. But because of where I live they were all D mints and I don't see many others. They do come in P and S right?

Do you know where I can get a coin of each and not pay a fortune for them? I am going to be picky and want perfect coins.

    Hi ! KD,

My suggestion would be for you to find another collector friend and ask if you could swap with him some of those roll coins for something you don't have. If you live out on the West coast, (Denver to the Pacific), you will get "D" coins from the banks.
You won't find any uncirculated "P" coins except from a dealer or the USMint. As for the "S" coins, those are proof only and they are also aquired from either a dealer or the USMint.

If you want "perfect" coins, you are going to have to buy and sort a lot of coins to get them. Current coins can be bought from the Mint (http://www.usmint.gov/index.cfm?flash=yes), or local coin stores may carry both current and earlier coins. But don't expect to pay face value, as they both make a profit.

The S mint are proofs made in both the silver or the regular cu/ ni clad.

You'll probably have to look to the secondary market for most of them. You can still find some uncs in circulation but there are fewer every day. Look for nice strong strikes and as little marking as possible.

After 2004 these appear in another format as well. They were made for the mint sets with a sort of matte finish.

If you have a chance to check mint sets and care about quality this is where most of the finest coins are issued.

Try Mint State Quarters at www.mintstatecoins.com. They have any of the state quarters that you need at BU grade. The quaters run anywhere form .79 to 1.50 plus shipping depending on which quarter you are wanting.

Have you try the open froum they might be someone there that may be able to help. Just ask if anyone wants to swap or sell state quarters. If you do not get any reply PM me and I might be able to help with some of the states.
