When's the last time you remember recieving a legal tender coin in the mail as either a "coupon" or a "lucky coin" to some scratch card sweepstakes promo, or some other reason? The question came up for me in another thread about toning as the 1984 Jefferson I've had since I was a kid (lost the original blister packaging and the other nickel that came with it) is now developing a wonderful magenta tone to it. It just got me to thinking. So the bar is set at 1984.....and I can think of another more recent, but will save that for later.
I think sometime back I got a fresh new $2 bill in some promotion. I kept it, but didn't buy whatever was being pitched.
Did you seriously get a Cheerio's SAC? Do you still have it..? Those are worth quite a bit of bank now!
Is there any premium to the Cheerios cents? I got one in late 1999, and still have it in its original packaging (of the coin - I ate the Cheerios).
