    I like to buy early half dimes prior to 1830 they have some low mint numbers and a relatively low price.

    Right you are Ken, Although the 1792 Half Disme is a one and only species for trial and error. An estimated between 250 and 400 1792 half dismes exist today.

    As you know, circulated Half Dimes commenced with dated coins from 1794 through 1873. I don't believe the Haf Dime inscription was added until 1837. Prior to that the inscription was just 5 C.
