Any body have any spare wheats?? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=140163769048&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=004
Thats a great buy for a reseller. They actually avg. on ebay about $200 per bag, the buyer got 10 bags.
ten bags @ 1200.00 a peice look at the listing, you were bidding on one bag. times how many you want.
I think he made a mistake and thought he was bidding on all 10. I did that accidently once and luckily I was only bidding on two things. I took a bit of a loss but I learned from it. I'll bet that the seller is going to have a hard time collecting $12,000.
Ya, I think he did bid in error but but could you even think about 1200 per bag I could retire!!! wheats are on the rise was $175 a bag now $215-230. However one guy one ebay gets around $300 all the time.
Go back and check the bid history.....Winner won all 10 bags for $1200? or $1200 per. Going to be tricky, lol.
He has another listing--- note the Quantity 10, your bidding on one bag. http://cgi.ebay.com/5000-WHEAT-PENN...ryZ11944QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
that's a little over 2 cents each. Not bad but you really going to get all 40's and 50's i bet you can do better from a show or dealers you know well
What strikes me as bizarre in the bid history is that there are no bidders between $178 and $1200, whereas all the other bids are a few bucks apart. Why would it go to $1200 per bag when there's no one at $1198- shouldn't that guy have just won at one bid over $178, i.e. around $180?
When you bid on muti-items like this auction you put in the price that you are willing to pay and how many you want. ebay does not bid up for you. It is a what your willing to pay auction.
The bidder obviously has no clue how a duthc auction works. Had he bid on 9 bags at a million dollars each he would have gotten them for $178. Instead he went for 10 and instantly raised the price of the whole lot. I'm sure he thought he was paying $120 a bag with his bid. I've got some good deals on dutch auctions. Also seen just one greedy bidder mess it up on MANYoccasions. If you're going to bid on dutch auctions always bid on at least 1 lot less than the total quantity available. Keeps the price down.
Ah, that explains what I was wondering about. I guess it makes sense but I would have never thought it would work that way.
I wouldn't pay so much for them. I don't think the copper content is even worth that much. Also there would be many commons in these bags, or they wouldn't be sold in these bags. I don't know about everyone else, but I would spend a year or more looking through thousands of unsearched wheat cents, just in case.
