Hey Everyone ! Today's Wednesday we are doing a Wheat back Wednesday . So, please post some of your favorites from 1909 to 1958 . Thanks in advance .
My 1909-VDB, saved from an original roll in 1909 by Marion, Ohio banker Leroy D. Zachman, whose great-grandson Josh (@kazuma78) gave it to me. So the pedigree of this coin is now 112 years old. Leroy D. Zachman, 1909 His heirs His great-grandson Me, 2020 (I submitted it to PCGS).
Found this one in a bulk bag of Wheaties in 2006. Paid a little less than a nickel for it, as such. Sold it for around $700, after PCGS graded it XF40. Probably my second-best cherrypick of all time. (I know, I keep posting it in various threads, but wouldn't you?)
@lordmarcovan Mostly IHC's as the major of my hunting has been around old ( 18th and 19th century) cellar holes and fields . All my "wheaties" in my collection have been given to me years ago .
Those are very nice Sal! I have a bunch of wheat pennies but my boyfriend is in bed so I really don't wanna be turning on a bunch of lights so I can photograph them...think that might upset him! Otherwise, this is the perfect category! By the way, you're quite the night owl, aren't you?
@love old coins . Yes I am . I use to work 2nd shift for 11 years . I'm here all the time Morning, Day and evening mostly .
Lots of neat coins. I guess I need to take a look at the rolls of wheat-ears that I have, but I'm sure there are no 09 vdb versions. I do have one stored that I found a few years ago.
