I found this peeny in the cash register at a convienence store where I work. Has this penny just had a hard life or is it some kind of error? It seemed light in weight so i had it weighed and it only weighs 2.99 grams. Can anyone tell me what it is?

Definitely looks like it took a dip in an acid bath. That would fit the appearance and weight. Unfortunately this means that it is the result of post-strike damage and not worth a premium.
    Keep up the hunt!
