Whats wrong with this penny?

    Its a 1953 D wheat penny. Some of the word LIBERTY has been "chipped off".

    Its actually more like the opposite of chipped off. It looks like there was a little to much copper (or whatever they are made of) when they made it because you can still see the LI of LIBERTY.

    I have something similar on a Morgan... hmmm maybe minor lamination??
