I'm sorry, but your quarter has been damaged, not an error of any kind. It looks like it may have been exposed to severe heat.

Classified as: Roadidus I, which covers damage to coins that have been exposed to park lots, sidewalk, and road surfaces.
No value over face, but you needed to ask in order to learn. Good job.

That is damaged caused when it is put underneath a table leg to keep it from wobbling.

Gee, Paddy . . . Are ya sure it wasn't used to shim up one corner of the Empire State Building?

  9. ok I'm not a complete idiot the reason I asked was because there are no signs of road rash on either side and I didn't expect it to be worth anything just found it interesting so thought I would share not to be mocked...

That’s definitely damaged but still worth twenty five cents.

If this area doesn't look squooshed to anyone then I have the wrong strength in reading glasses. Look at the rim o_O

Can you provide new pictures of both sides?

Damaged coins aren't that interesting (to me) unless they have this kind of damage.

as you might be able to see on the back side bubble starts above the 2
and follows up to top and yes a bit of damage from age what I was interested to know since I've seen bubbling on pennies if it also happened to qtrs

You need to get a thick skin for some of the replies. I knew, that you knew, it was just PMD and was just making light of it by giving it a name. Humor can be a very rewarding outcome for some situations.
At this stage in my life, I'm trying to see the silver lining in all things and recognize the humor in the world around me.
