As I was looking through some lot auctions on eBay, I saw these pictures and something threw me off. On the front, there appears to be a $1 Hawaii issue... ...But on the back, it looks like a $2 note. The listing description never explicitly says that these scans are of the same note, but if you look at the tears on the sides and corners, it appears to be the same piece of paper. But that would also mean that the back side would be printed upside down. Would this even be possible? To mix up front and back plates of different denominations and the orientation of the plates? Or am I just totally mixing up these photos and are there two different notes? Some insight would be appreciated. Peaked my interest also... I emailed the seller and he stated the note feels "slightly thicker". So, there ya go...
Alright, thank you. That makes sense. I wonder how long those notes were stuck together in order to be so worn. And yes! Bonus for the bidder!
