Hi everyone, I have a Canadian 1979 one cent that I noticed has some weird stuff happening in the front of her neck , her mouth and it looks like she has a runny nose. Any comments would be appreciated.[/URL]%20%20[/IMG]
I also have examples of these. The weird mouth thing, I can't explain... could be a die chip. The extra line in front of the neck and nose, I think are the remants of a die clash that wasn't polished out.
I'm also thinking die clash and they have heavily polished the die trying to remove it and didn't get it all. The die polishing could also be what is causing the mouth problem. Some of the late middle date large cents got that smae distorted type mouth from extensive die polishing.
