What's Up with the New Forum?

When I logged onto the Forum today it's all different. Anybody know what's up?

What do you mean? I see nothing different.

 

Peter is redoing it with a software update, just as he said he would last week.

 

I believe it used to be a version of Apache software now it's got a different look and appears to be faster at least.
I guess it's an updated version of Apache. Nice.

 

I noticed that there is a list of "Similar Threads" at the bottom of the page. You've got to check the date on them, though (on the far right). I opened one and was just about to post a "Welcome" for someone who registered last year.

 

There are some nice features, but I miss the list of most recent posts (all forums) on the left side of the screen.

So far I like this new format. It is good IMO.

 

all in good time... i hope. haven't seen any other Bullion forum changes since it was discussed last week prior to the forum update

 

On the left? Mine were on the right. Maybe it is because I'm right-handed.

Personally, I don't miss that function because a lot of the most recent posts from one forum can get "pushed off" the list if there is a lot of posting activity on another forum. I usually find myself searching a specific forum anyway.

I suspect the administrator can add/remove features as he becomes familiar with it.
Overall I like it.

 

The only thing I noticed that presents a problem is when you upload a photo directly from your computer, and it won't post. I haven't found a way to delete it before submitting the post.

Just recently in "World", I tried to post the obverse and reverse images of two medals. One medal uploaded with no problem, but the other was represented by large "question marks" in the boxes that were supposed to show the images. I wanted to delete those before I submitted the post and look into it later, but I couldn't find a "Delete" tab anywhere. I know it was in the old format.
